How to Make Firefox Faster and Better

Alright, first of all I welcome you to
computer-tweaking.blogspot.com

For my first post here I'm gonna show you some of my tried and proven methods on speeding up firefox, while some of you may already know this I just wanted to show it anyway for the internet newbies who wants to gain an extra boost in their mozilla firefox and make their internet faster, here it is...

Before we do this I highly recommend that you make a restore point or that you backup the preferences of firefox.

To make a backup of firefox's settings just make a copy of the file prefs.js. This file is stored in your Firefox default directory. The reason for this is if you make a mistake you can always return to the default state of firefox but don't worry, your in good hands with me so its ok if you don't backup.

now let us get to the fun part!

STEP 1

Open Firefox and In the address bar put about:config then hit enter

LIKE THIS :
(look at the Yellow Highlighted part at the top of this screen shot)

STEP 2

Copy and Paste the names below at the filter, for example.. browser.cache.disk.capacity after you hit enter and it shows up enter the following values 15000

To enter the following values:

-- double click the preference if it is present by default;

-- right clicking anywhere in the browser then go to New then Integer or Boolean if the preference is not present by default;

>BE PREPARED BECAUSE THIS SETTINGS CAN MAKE YOUR INTERNET FASTER!< ^_^
browser.cache.disk.capacity, 15000

browser.cache.disk.enable, true

browser.cache.memory.capacity, 65536

browser.cache.memory.enable, true

browser.search.openintab, true

browser.tabs.loadFolderAndReplace, false

browser.urlbar.hideGoButton, true

config.trim_on_minimize, true

content.interrupt.parsing, true

content.max.tokenizing.time, 2250000

content.notify.backoffcount, 5

content.notify.interval, 750000

content.notify.ontimer, true

content.switch.threshold, 750000

network.http.max-connections, 48

network.http.max-connections-per-server, 16

network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy, 16

network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server, 8

network.http.pipelining, true

network.http.pipelining.maxrequests, 8

network.http.proxy.pipelining, true

network.http.request.max-start-delay, 0

nglayout.initialpaint.delay, 0

plugin.expose_full_path, true

ui.scrollToClick, true

ui.submenuDelay, 0

(Don't include the comas)

if you searched for it in filter, and it is not showing up, then right click anywhere in the screen and select new then boolean or integer

NOTE: if its true or false, then make a boolean
but if its a number select integer.
